What first brought me into CrossFit 915 was a realization that the health problems that plagued my family were bound to shorten my life.
My Aunts and Uncles all have health problems now that they are getting older due to their weight. But what scared me the most is that they were not as heavy as I was at my age. I knew their health issues were an indication of my future, and my weight would be the catalyst to its realization.
My search for a better ‘me’ started where it does for most everybody, Google. After looking at the other gyms in the area, it was the clean, uncluttered, website for 915 that pushed me to sign up for an intro class. That same first impression has stuck with me still. CF915 is a no frills gym that focuses only on building the best version of its members that it can.
Without a doubt, my favorite aspect of CF915 is the people. Sleek marketing materials can only carry a brand so far, and for most things in life, that is where the magic ends; not here. The people at the gym are absolutely incredible, all totally unique, yet wholly devoted to being the support system for each other’s success. It’s easy to be so supportive of one another when you yourself need the support.
Since starting 10 months ago, I’ve lost 70 lbs, got taken off blood pressure medication, avoided cholesterol medication and have felt way more alive than before. Aside from actually starting to be noticed when I go out on the weekends, I feel a lot better about myself.
By far, my favorite time at the gym is the post workout ‘food’ talk I have with Anna and the coaches in the front. Serving as group therapy, we profess our for love for food, and resolve to keep eating clean.
