What brought you into CrossFit 915?
I had previously done CrossFit at another affiliate, stopped for a while and wanted to come back to CrossFit with an affiliate where I was comfortable.
What was your first impression of CrossFit and how has that changed?
I still remember the baseline workout, though at that time it took me like 15-20 minutes, and it killed me. I realized that CrossFit was like nothing I had ever done before. Every day it was new and challenging, which is something I was looking for and could not find at any other gym. Now, I do things that I never thought I was going to be able to do. I surprise myself every week with the progress I have made at CrossFit 915.
What’s your favorite thing about 915?
I feel at home, and I think that feeling stems from the fact that the athlete that can do a pull-ups is no better than the athlete that is not able to do so. We are all the same, just with different sets of skills. At the end of the day, we are all working together to overcome our own personal challenges.
What results have you seen?
When I first started back in September 2012 my weight was at 305 lbs and was at 27% body fat; I am now at 207 lbs and 15% body fat, still a long way to my goal, but I think I’ve had good progress!
What’s your favorite 915 memory?
My best memory was when my wife and 1 year old daughter came to the gym with me for the Labor Day workout. My wife goes to a different gym, but doing CrossFit together at my gym while my baby was there watching too was pretty amazing…
